Hull firm Flexi Foods Ltd raided in horsemeat
inquiry...
A Hull firm has been raided by the Food Standards Agency
(FSA) as part of the investigation into horsemeat being found in beef
products.
FSA officers, Hull City Council's Trading Standards officers and the police
entered Flexi Foods Ltd premises on the city's Newland Science Park. The agency said computers and documents were seized and meat samples were removed for testing.
Flexi Foods Ltd said it was "co-operating" with the FSA investigation.
The inquiry was launched last week after Irish firm McAdam Foods claimed in a statement it had received a consignment of meat from Flexi Foods that was found to contain horse DNA.
Flexi Foods has its head office in Hull and premises in Poland and Denmark.
