New Zealand will not be admitting banned undesirables into the country during the Rugby World Cup...
Media claims that New Zealand could be forced to admit undesirables into the country during the Rugby World Cup have been denied by the Government.
It was claimed that the New Zealand Government could be forced to admit Fijian coup leader and dictator, Frank Bainimarama, into New Zealand during the RWC tournament because he will be a VIP have been denied. Bainimarama is blacklisted and will not be admitted into New Zealand under any circumstances, RWC Minister, Murray McCully stated.
It was also claimed that his brother-in-law, Francis Keane could also enter New Zealand as a VIP, once he stages his own little coup and takes over the Fijian Rugby Union as its Chairman.
Francis Keane is a convicted killer - he was convicted of manslaughter after fatally punching a man at Bainimarama's daughter's wedding.. He was sentenced to 18 months in prison, but served only three months on full pay before being released and promoted to head the Fijian Navy. What sort of navy the Fijians have is another matter and won't be discussed here today.
The media have claimed both men could be hosted by New Zealand during the Rugby World Cup at a cost of $45,000 each - under the rules of the IRB hosting nations pay for two officials from each participating nation.
However the news today claimed IRB officials are on the way to meet with Fijian leaders concerning the RWC.
There is more to write about this subject in coming days. I will post an update in due course.

A Russian commercial bank with a Kiwi-registered parent company with links to former Russian president Vladimir Putin has gone bust owing NZ$4 billion dollars.
The International Industrial Bank (IIB) was declared insolvent by a court in Moscow late last year with liabilities reportedly numbering R$2.8 billion (NZ$4 billion) to creditors including the Central Bank of Russia.
Russia's Deposit Insurance Agency was appointed to look after the failed bank's affairs.
IIB was controlled by Russian oligarch, Sergei Pugachev nicknamed cashier by the Kremlin because of his relationship with the now Prime Minister Putin.
Pugachev controlled the bank but ultimately its parent company was the New Zealand registered OPK Trust Company, IIB's website confirmed.
Why a New Zealand connection one might ask?

Tamaki - makau - rau
Imagine an urban environment where everybody lives within a half an hour of beautiful beaches, hiking trails and a dozen enchanted holiday isles. Add a sunny climate, a background rhythm of Polynesian culture and a passion for outstanding food, wine and shopping - you're beginning to get the picture of...Auckland.
In the Maori language Auckland is known as Tamaki - Makau - rau, 'the maiden with a hundred suitors'. It earned this because it was the region covered by so many tribes.
That is the tourist story - but the recently amalgamated Auckland super city is home to 1.2 million people, living, working, and playing - a vibrant multicultural mix of "tribes" from around the globe. It is also New Zealand's largest city and the commercial and industrial centre of the country.
The newly elected mayor, Len Brown, wants Auckland to become the most liveable city in the world.

Pike River Mine Police recovery program is over...

The Pike River mine and Police Commissioner Howard Broad
Pike River press conference January 13 2011:
Pike River press conference January 13 2011:
Police Commissioner Howard Broad says the danger is too great to recover the bodies of the 29 men inside Pike River mine and announced the police operation is over.
"We dealt with the Pike River Mine by requesting a plan ... the company have provided us with a plan but it raised many questions," Broad said a media briefing this evening.
"I have since had a reply to those questions and frankly my confidence in terms of a recovery operation to bring the men out is quite low."
He said that when he had visited the area at Christmas he had said access to the mine would be "desirable but not legally essential".
He reiterated that police had said then they would do their level best "but not though putting lives at risk".
"While it is possible to argue a technical case that access to the mine is possible, it is in my idea impractical to expend much hope on that prospect."
He said he had advice from experts from Australia and New Zealand which led to his decision.
"It would be quite wrong for the police to hold out great hope that the men will be recovered.
"The assessment is that the likelihood of getting into the mine is unrealistic because it is too unsafe.
"I have decided that the recovery phase of this operation will come to a conclusion."
He said the operation will be handed back to Pike River Coal's receiver, which controls Pike River coal mine.
He has told the receiver of his decision and is waiting his reply.
"In my view, it is time to focus on the living and to respect and memorialise those who have died," Broad said.
He thanked the families for the way in which they have dealt with "this most heart-rending of tragedies and I am gratified with the response from the families".
"We are disappointed that we are not in a different state than we are here today."
He described the families' reaction to the news as a "a mixture of emotions".
"There were some extremely probing questions of the decision making process but I think they were grateful for having being briefed on this."
ONE News reporter Jack Tame spoke to families as they came out of their meeting with Broad.
He said some were clearly upset and frustrated, saying it was too early for the police to pull out.
But Families' spokesman Bernie said he could understand the police position and that the responsiblity realisically needs to be left to the receivers now
"It's about time the receivers started coming out of their closet and started helping us and helping the families."
He says it now gives the receivers a chance to put their plan in place and keep in contact with families.
Broad said police were still anticipating a situation where the mine could one day be safe enough to enter and that the mine would not need to be sealed yet.
